Ephesians 5:25-27 – Loving Her

Share Article

Day #11 of my daily scripture reading challenge.

Unrealistic expectations and a lack of Christ-like love are significant causes of conflict in marriage. If I were to love my wife as Christ loves the church, sacrificing myself for her and helping her grow spiritually through God’s word, it would reduce internal conflict within me. This approach would help me see her more as God sees her: precious and worthy of love and care. While this doesn’t guarantee a conflict-free marriage, it provides a strong foundation for her and I to thrive together.

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”
