I am not a pastor or a theologian. I am just a guy who has found that he connects best with scripture when he has to try to explain it to someone else. That does not mean that the words I write here are perfect or even in line with their intended purpose. They are simply my perception.
Every commentary that ever was written is really nothing more than someone’s perception of what God was saying to us. Some of these authors have been studying God’s word their entire adult life, which gives them a level of professional knowledge.
1 Corinthians 2:11 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
In scripture, Paul explains that only the Spirit of God knows the thoughts of God, but shortly later in the same letter explains that God’s Spirit lives in us.
1 Corinthians 3:16New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Having accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior thus inviting God’s Spirit to dwell in our hearts does not mean that we automatically understand God. I believe that God’s Word allows His Spirit to speak through us. Even then, God’s Spirit is not fully accessible to us so long as there is sin in our lives.
With that said, I do hold myself to a high standard as it warns those in the Bible teach the Word of God will be judged more harshly.
James 3:1 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
3Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.
If you decide to read anything that I have written, please take and test it. If God speaks to you through something, take it to your Pastor or someone whom you trust and respect as a Man of Faith. I am a follower of Christ, but I am also a broken sinner. I am not a Pastor, Preacher, or Spiritual Advisor. I am just a guy who sometimes writes about how he is currently relating to God’s Word.
1 Thessalonians 5:21New American Standard Bible (NASB)
21But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;
If you find that something I have written is incorrect or not in line with what the scriptures actually mean, please notify me. I am not a scholar or a theologian. I actually had to look up how to spell theologian correctly. Take everything I have written and test it, just as you would anything else in this world.
I appreciate your time. Though I don’t know you or your story, I am praying generally for those who happen upon this website that God might strengthen them and give them enlightenment on how to be drawn closer to Him. That is exactly what I want for myself, to be drawn closer to God.
If you desire prayer, want to correct me on something I said, or just need someone to listen, please email me through the contact page.
