Day #18 – Reading a chapter of scripture each day with a small group of guys, sharing a thought or insight in a group text.
“These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.”
Colossians 2:23 ESV
A reminder to me that though there are a lot of really neat and useful modern ideas to deal with life’s challenges true power and healing only come through Christ.
I highly recommend doing this with 3 to 4 other guys. Something different sticks out to everyone, and even when a few of us choose the same verse, God has something different to say to each of us. It’s cool to experience that together.
